Culture in Society

Arts Access Aotearoa has a range of programmes that interact with society.

These include planning with communities to understand there social, economic, environmental landscape.  This is done with analysis of the existing culture of a community.   What makes this community work.   What is its history and stories?  What are the ideologies?   What are the values?   What are the rituals and behaviours that make this society work?

Are the members of the community friendly?   Are the system easy to negotiate?   Is it comfortable working with this society and culture?

Arts Access Aotearoa has done a series of projects that celebrate cultural diversity, examine culture as a tool for social development, interac tiion with prisons and with people on the margins of society, but also people interacting with the wellbeing of being a tourist.
